The number of injuries occurring in the lower extremity is on
the rise with the increased participation in sports activities. Common
athletic injuries include ankle sprains,
heel pain, tendonitis,
myositis, shin splints, stress
fractures, and chondromalacia. Many sports injuries are best treated with
prevention by wearing appropriate shoe gear and possibly using orthotics to
better control motion and eliminate excessive stress on the lower extremity.
Our doctors are available for trauma care 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week. Our doctors are trained to treat a variety of injuries including
fractures, dislocations, torn ligaments,
lacerations, and burns of the foot and ankle. Periodically, we have found
that seemingly minor injuries with lingering symptoms warrant further evaluation
to rule out possible chronic underlying disorders.
Our doctors are well versed in sports medicine,
and we treat recreational, amateur, and professional athletes. We possess the
latest knowledge in foot and ankle orthoses and the latest techniques
in trauma care.
